One Apple caveat — we recover from removable Mac drives and blade SSDs, but not storage soldered to the logic board, so recent MacBooks are worth a call on 0800 689 0668 first.

Most customers post or courier their media to us.

Sending a drive from a computer, laptop, MacBook, iMac, CCTV / DVR or server? Please remove the internal hard drive or SSD and send us just the drive — we don't provide an internal drive-removal service. We don't recover storage soldered to a motherboard (e.g. Apple Silicon Macs and some thin laptops) — only drives that can be removed and sent to us.

Wrap the device in bubble wrap or a padded envelope — no need to include cables or power supplies.
Print and enclose the booking-in & shipping form (PDF) with your name, phone number and a brief description of what happened.
Send by Royal Mail Special Delivery or any tracked courier for full insurance in transit.

Very likely, if it goes no further: don't format, don't keep shooting, don't run recovery apps. We image the card sector by sector and rebuild the images from that copy. Photographers across Gower post us cards in ordinary envelopes — tape the card inside folded card first.

The drive inside is very probably fine. On older iMacs it's removable: take it out, or have someone local do it, and post just the drive to us. The free diagnostic tells you what's there within 2 working days of arrival, and logical recoveries are no fix, no fee.

It depends on the storage. MacBooks with removable drives or blade SSDs — yes, routinely. Apple Silicon and T2 machines keep storage soldered to the logic board, which is outside what we recover and makes backups on those Macs essential. Call and we'll identify which yours is.
