Who we are

Swansea Data Recovery offers a professional data recovery service for customers in Swansea, South Wales and nationally. All recovery takes place in a secure environment at our receiving laboratory located at: Castlemead, Lower Castle Street, Bristol, BS1 3AG. What we collect and why

When you submit an enquiry or use our form to get a free diagnostic from us, we will be collecting your name, telephone number, e-mail address and what you describe about your device and your fault. The information is being used only in order to reply to your enquiry, provide diagnostics and a quote on your recovery request and manage your recovery job. Your data will not be sold nor shared with third party companies for marketing purposes, and we don't send marketing ourselves.

The data on your device

Devices submitted to us are logged into our secure laboratory and all handling is performed only by our engineers. Recovered data will be copied to encrypted media prior to its return to you. After confirmation that you have your files back safely, we will then securely erase our working copies. We do not browse, use, or disclose the contents of your devices unless it is necessary to accomplish the specific recovery service(s) you requested, or as required by law.

How long we keep information

Enquiries are retained as long as it takes to complete your work and for our basic business records. Working copies of recovered data are deleted once you have confirmed that it has been safely received, usually within 14 days of return.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, if you want a copy of what personal data we are storing on you, get us to correct your details, or just wipe all that is stored on you as long as there is no further use for this information, then contact us at 0800 689 0668 and we will deal with your request promptly. Alternatively if you feel we have handled your personal information poorly then you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
